Behavioral Health Prevention has decided to host a virtual Freedom Walk, and have collaborated with Nimkee Fitness this year too. Please participate in your own time once you receive your t-shirt. Nimkee Fitness and Prevention will have a walking course for participants to utilize, it starts and stops at Nimkee Fitness, if you want to walk that path from August 21-27, the map is attached for your reference. Or you can choose the location and length of your walk, so please do your own pace and what feels right for you!

Please utilize the “Freedom Walk sign up” form found on the Behavioral Health page: http://www.sagchip.org/behavioralhealth/index.asp to register the participants for your household.
T-shirts will be provided to the first 200 participants who register.
T-shirt Pick up will be on:
- Wednesday August 19, 11am-1pm, at Behavioral Health
- Friday August 21, 11am-1pm, at Behavioral Health
- Monday, August 24, 10am-2pm, at Nimkee Fitness
- Tuesday, August 25, 10am-2pm, at Nimkee Fitness or
- By appointment (email prevention@sagchip.org to make other arrangements)
This will be a drive thru pick up and Behavioral Health or an outside walk up at Nimkee Fitness, employees with have your shirts waiting for you.
We would also like to give SCIT members and community members a forum and opportunity submit photos and videos of themselves explaining why they choose sobriety for themselves. Please print and customize the attached Freedom Walk Pledge Card/ "I choose sobriety because" sign and send us photos or videos of you supporting Sobriety in our community!
Rules for video and photo submissions to the Virtual Freedom Walk 2020 webpage:
- Please limit your video to 3 minutes or less (think elevator speech).
- This is a family function, so please keep things appropriate for all ages.
- Please submit video submissions by 5pm on August 24 so that items can be reviewed and loaded on to website and social media. Photo submissions will be accepted until 5pm on August 27.
Please submit photos and/or videos to Prevention@sagchip.org, with Freedom Walk 2020 in the subject line.
On August 28 we will launch the webpage showcasing everyone’s participation photos and videos. We will have like normal, opening prayer from Tribal Chaplain Ricketts, Opening remarks and welcome from Tribal Chief Davis, and guest speakers who will tell their sobriety story, this will be pre-recorded and available for viewing on and after August 28.
Raffle winners will be randomly selected from the registrations, videos, and photos submitted. In order to be entered into the raffle drawing your photos and videos need to be sent to Prevention@sagchip.org by the above stated deadlines (video 8/24 by 5pm, and photos 8/27 by 5pm). There are many ways to enter the raffle, but you can only enter each category once:
- Send individual photo of you in your t-shirt (holding the Freedom Walk Pledge Sign preferred)
- Send in your video message of why you choose sobriety
- Send in household photo of you all in your t-shirts (Family Raffle Prize)
- If someone does not get a Freedom Walk 2020 T-shirt, you can still print off the Freedom Walk Pledge Sign and send us your photo of why you choose sobriety to be entered for a raffle drawing.
