Helping Healer

The primary goal of the Helping Healer Program is to empower the individual to make healthy lifestyle decisions by introducing culturally relevant activities and services.

The Anishinabek people believe that in order to achieve balance in life, a person must be healthy in all four aspects of their lives: spiritual, mental, physical and emotional. The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Behavioral Health Program embraces these four aspects of life as they also recognize that the healing process must focus on the person being served, as well as the family, the community and the support system of the individual.

It is with this recognition that the Anishinabek Helping Healer Program was brought to our program, to assist with the cultural aspect in the healing process of an individual.

A Helping Healer can help you to create balance and link you with activities that will help you find this balance. Each one of us is a healer. We have the ability to heal our own spirit and help others heal themselves.
