Laura Lund

Laura Lund, DDS
Chief Dental Officer, Nimkee Dental Clinic

I graduated from The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry in 1994, and completed a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in 1995. Joining the US Public Health Service/Indian Health Service as a Commissioned Officer in 1995, I began working with the Nez Perce Tribe in Idaho. I transferred to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to work with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe in 1998, where I have been ever since. It continues to be a pleasure to work and grow with the SCIT. I am a firm believer in respect, good manners, kindness, and the belief that if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing right. I continually strive to carry these tenets into both my professional and personal lives. When not working, I enjoy hugging my family, reading, taking walks and stained glass art.

I graduated from Grand Rapids Educational Center in 1990. I have been a dental assistant on and off since then. I always seem to come back to work in the dental field; I love it. I love working with the patients, whether it is working to improve their smile or helping to lessen the fear of the dental experience. The constant change that comes with being an assistant is never boring because there is always something new and exciting happening.
