Dr. Buford graduated from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in 1976 and went on to serve his country as a Dental Officer in the United States Air Force (1976-1978). He later indulged his passion for continuing education by earning a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health in 1994 and a certificate as Dental Public Health Officer from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia in 1995. He has practiced in Georgia and, most recently, Michigan, for 44 years. Dr. Buford views dentistry not only as a profession but also as a calling. His numerous forays into advanced training, dental implantology, grant writing and proposals has afforded him a comprehensive knowledge base of general dentistry. He continues to hone his skills in all areas of dentistry. Most importantly, Dr. Buford is a family man and avid animal lover. His kindness, diligence, empathy, and social adeptness are the factors that bolster his personal and professional worlds. During his leisure time, he enjoys traveling, reading, exercising, playing the flute and saxophone, and spending time with his family and beloved toy poodle, Shaungo.
