Nimkee's medical clinic has three physicians
and a nurse practitioner, as well as an experienced support
staff of nurses and assistants. Our staff expands on
traditional physicians' services by offering various
programs for community members. The walk-in Immunization
Clinic is very popular. The hard work of our staff has
been recognized for bringing our communitys' immunization
rate up much higher than that of both the county and
the state.
Nimkee Clinic and Public Health nurses have organize
and present periodic community awareness topics on everything
from menopause to men's health to STDs. These classes
are available to anyone who is interested both at Tribal
Operations and the Public Health conference room. Outreach
efforts have also extended to education topics at the
annual health fair and classes at the Saganing reservation.
Women's health clinics offer annual exams and mammograms,
as well as education on women's issues. The men's health
clinics also offer yearly screenings, including cancer
screening and general health education. The clinic and
public health staff facilitates teen clinics. Education
is provided to young people on health and safety in a
peer group setting.
