Lawsuit filed over Tribal Council's recall dismissal

Organizers of a recent recall petition have filed a lawsuit over Tribal Council’s dismissal of the matter based on an inadequate number of valid signatures.

Sewing, beading and designing are nothing new to the Pokagon Potawatomi and Saginaw Chippewa descendant, as she has applied these and many other talents toward creating her regalia for the past several years.

But now the poised Shepherd Middle School student is applying her skills and expanding her horizons to follow a path of fashion design.

Public hearing slated for ordinances

A June 28 public hearing has been slated for comment regarding two proposed Tribal ordinances concerning off-road vehicles and fireworks.
