Migizi employees enjoy summer appreciation event - 9-7-16

Joseph V. Sowmick - September 09, 2016

Team Observer went on location at Island Park in Mount Pleasant September 7 to join the Midwest’s favorite mascot Gizi as employees and families enjoyed another annual summer outing.  Human Resources Specialist Marc McCain was excited about the great turnout this year at the 2016 Migizi Summer Employee Appreciation Event.

“It was great to see Migizi employees and their families enjoying themselves and taking time out of their busy schedules to join us at Island Park,” McCain said.  “We look forward to the next employee appreciation event and want to thank each and every employee here at Migizi for their hard work and dedication.”

Human Resources Manager Samantha Kirklin and Migizi Tribal leadership Intern Dawn Morrow gave everyone a warm greeting at the registration table.  “Our employees have been hard working and dedicated to Migizi and it is great to show them how much we appreciate the work they do. We had a great turn out despite the rainy weather,” Kirklin said.  “The picnic was a great way to show appreciation for our employees and it allowed them to socialize, relax, and win some prizes.”

The employees were able to bring their families to enjoy the games and activities.  The children enjoyed the bouncy house and a hula hoop competition while adults played Jenga, extreme volleyball and a wild egg toss contest.

Kirklin and McCain thanked everyone for their support with putting the event together. Blarney Castle and Blodgett Oil helped provide door prizes and Nimkee Fitness and SCIT Recreation for providing door prizes and contests.

Nbakade Restaurant graciously catered the event and Soaring Eagle Waterpark & Hotel General Manager Bonnie Sprague and Associate General Manager Melinda Coffin came by to join the festivities.
