Team Observer ponders the following question: making lunch plans and craving something fresh, organic, homegrown and good for you?  Your answer is right across the street from Tribal Operations at the Native Farmers Market on the corner of Leaton and Broadway.  There is a cornucopia of farm fresh items to choose from and plenty of craft vendors and other items including some excellent fruits and vegetables!  We also have our friends from Spanky’s Kettle Corn making a return visit to the market.  They have their mouth-watering Chicago-style kettle corn along with their original and caramel kettle corn and have free samples for you to choose from.

Nimkee Public Health Educator and REACH Grant Coordinator Brandon Schultz mentions the Native Farmers Market days will be getting  shorter starting next Tuesday, September 6 from 10am - 2pm, but today vendors will be out till 4pm.

“I don’t know anywhere that provides such a great opportunity for a community to shop for canning tomatoes, peaches, all kinds of great produce and baked goodies for the lunch pals right across the workplace,” Schultz said. “Along with all the produce we have homemade goods to go along with entertainment and we recently had two grills installed so people can do cooking right on site.  If you have any of your Native Farmers Market  vouchers that have been piling up now and next week are your last chances to redeem them If you haven’t had a chance to check it out this summer, we will be open until 4pm today so come out of see what we have to offer!”
