Isabella Sagamok Express Hosts Ribbon Cutting 7-8-16

Joseph V. Sowmick - July 08, 2016

Team Observer was on location at the July 8 grand opening ribbon cutting for the Isabella Sagamok Express Mobil.  Tribal Chief Frank Cloutier gave brief remarks and introduced his fellow Council members in attendance and Migizi Economic Development Company Interim CEO Lisa Darnell

“When our team began discussing renovations for the Isabella Sagamok, our number one goal was to provide better customer service.  Phase One is complete with the transition to Mobil including upgrades of brand new pumps, islands, signage, point of sale system, and imaging,” Darnell said.  “In the coming weeks, we will be repairing the parking lot and in the fall and winter months we will be bringing you a fresh and inviting image to the store front and the inside of the store.  Miigwetch for letting us serve your community.”

Blodgett Oil has been a part of the Sagamok story from its inception and Larry Blodgett was on hand with Blarney Castle Oil & Propane representative Dennis McCarthy to join in the festivities.  Tribal Council Chaplain Diana Quigno-Grundahl provided an invocation and the Mino Ode Singers offered an honor song for the occasion.  My 104.3 FM WCZY radio personality Chris Spachman interviewed Chief Cloutier and Migizi Marketing Manager Frederick Kuhlman as the employees gave away plenty of cupcakes, UBS Sagamok Express car chargers and popcorn at the event.  In addition with other dignitaries, Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce President Bret Hyble attended the celebration along with his fellow chamber ambassadors.
