AOVWS Veterans Feast 11-11-14

In an effort to provide bonus coverage, Team Observer joins with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and the Anishinabe Ogitchedaw Veterans & Warrior Society at their AOVWS Veterans Feast “Honoring the Women Warriors” held at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort Ballroom on Nov. 8. 

Special speakers for the event included the first ever female commander of a VFW Post Rolene Amsler, Grand Traverse Band Odawa Elder and Ogichedaw Eagle Staff Carrier Linda Woods and SCIT Tribal Elder Bonnie Ekdahl.

 The Wabanisee (Snowbirds) Singers also joined the festivities and offered a hand drum song in honor of the warriors. 

As we reflect as a grateful Tribal Nation let us remember on this special day those who have served and those who gave their all for our freedom … miigwetch!
