Chamber Business Over Breakfast

Joseph V. Sowmick - December 04, 2013

In an effort to provide regular bonus coverage throughout the month, Team Observer joins with Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Public Relations and the Friends of the Broadway in support of their Business Over Breakfast (BOB) event on Dec 4th.  Our Tribe and business are long standing Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce members and PR Director Frank Cloutier  is a member of their Board of Directors.  The area Chamber helps to promote tourism and the Tribe contributes to the Convention Visitors Bureau (CVB) supporting their “Pure Michigan” campaign efforts.  The Downtown Business Association is sponsoring Dickens Weekend with the annual lighted parade festivities on Saturday, Dec 7th at 5:30pm.  When downtown,  Come see “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at the Broadway Dec 6 - 8, and Dec 13-15. Friday and Saturday at 7pm, Sunday at 2pm.  In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids, probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won't believe the mayhem and the fun when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!  This delightful comedy is adapted from the best-selling Young Adult book, and has become a holiday staple for theatre across the United States! The play features plenty of great roles for children and adults, a few favorite Christmas Carols, and a lot of laughs!  Tickets are $8 and may be purchased at Ace of Diamonds, Ric’s and at the box office one hour before showtime.   In the past, many Tribal members and employees have auditioned for the Broadway Theatre productions and they have another audition for “The Importance of Being Earnest” scheduled for Dec. 18-19 at 6pm … miigwetch!  (WCZY owner and radio personality Bob Peters shares a moment with “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” Director Cindy Kilmer onstage at the Broadway)
