Over 200 Saginaw Chippewa Tribal members have not filed their annual report with a May 4 deadline looming.

According to information from the Tribal Clerk's Office on April 27 at noon, 217 forms have not been returned.

It is stated in the Tribe's Amended Constitution of Nov. 4, 1986 (Article III, Section 4) that "all members of the Tribe shall report...at least once each year in order to be entitled to any monetary benefits apportioned to the members of the Tribe."

Guidelines for filing the report can be found on page 5. The Tribal Clerk's Office has made mailings and personal calls to those who haven't turned in the report yet.

"We try to make it as easy and convenient as possible for Tribal members," stated Tribal Clerk Darryl Jackson.
