Gloria Sue Merrill, 65, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at McLaren Central Michigan.
Funeral Services for Gloria will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 2 p.m with Rev. Robert Pego officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 4 from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 5 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday, September 6 from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Gloria was born on January 1, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of William and Jenny (Rapp) Strong. Gloria was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. She enjoyed going to the casino to drink coffee and go people watching. She loved spending time going for walks and traveling with her kids. Gloria had a passion for sharing her love for friends and family with gifts.
Gloria is survived by her children, Kelly, David, and Bethel Merrill; grandchildren, Tiponya and Rochelle Woodcox, Conrad Kowalski, David, Marjorie, Mattea, and Dominic Merrill, Zachary and Charles Merrill, Simone Sineway, and Isaiah Teswood; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Myra (Don) Carr, Linda Ritter, Sarah (Dave) Martin, Marlin (Anna) Strong, and Diane Strong; and many nieces and nephews.
Gloria was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Boone Strong; parents; and 2 brothers, Eugene and Glindale Strong.
