Kenneth Charles Chappell, of Whittemore, Michigan, passed away August 9, 2012, at 78 years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Lee; daughters, Karen (Ray Boyd) Chappell of Blanchard and Kathy Evans of Gowen; grandchildren, Michelle (Daniel) Sherwood of Twining, Melissa Stewart of Taws City, Troy (Erica) Stewart of Tawas City, Jamie Chappell of Blanchard, Joey Bixman of Mecosta, Kathleen Brewington of Gowen and Frederick Rentsman of Gowen; great grandchildren, Katilyn Sherwood, Ryan Sherwood, Kyle Sherwood, John Spencer, Hailey Stewart, Izzy Stewart, Brittany Umlah, Patrick Umlah and Maisy Urbano-Camones.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jeynett (nee Luke) Chappell; and siblings, Robert Chappell Virginia ( Maxine) Vinkemulder, Jenevieve Wiersum and Wayne "Dutch" Chappell.
Kenneth was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on December 4, 1933. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He worked for Campbell Lumber. In 1972 he moved to the Mecosta/Remus area and retired from the Mecosta County Road Commission. He was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and enjoyed fishing, hunting and going to the casino.
