Robert Arthur Squanda

October 22, 1934 - September 15, 2011

SQUANDA, Robert Arthur of Grayling, Michigan, formally of Indiantown, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Mercy Hospital, Grayling. Age 76 years. Robert was born October 22, 1934 in Saginaw to the late Alec and Lois (Prast) Squanda. He was married to Billie Landskroener on April 27, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Saginaw. She survives him. He had been employed as a life long farmer and then worked for 10 years for the State of Michigan as a produce inspector. He retired in 1999 and moved to Grayling. Bob enjoyed his farm toy collection, as well as his large tractors and antiques. He enjoyed morning coffee at Lone Pine and Goodale's Bakery.

Left to cherish Bob's memory besides his wife are six children: Lynn (Larry) Murphy of Shepherd, Wayne (Denise) Squanda of Saginaw, Lori (Tom) Fleischmann of Munger, Vern (Becky) Squanda of Vassar, Alex (Laura) Squanda of Reese, Doug (Janis) Squanda of Reese; 17 grandchildren: Julie, Matt and Ben Fleischmann, Amy (Keith) DuRussel, Derek (Kylie) Kelley, Elizabeth Kelley, Stephanie and Nick Squanda, Zachery, Erika and Kaitlyn Squanda, Jeremy O'Keefe, Chelsey Squanda, Alyson Squanda, Tyler (Heather) Squanda, Courtney and Casey Squanda; four great-grandchildren: Sydney "Lu-Lu" and Wade DuRussel, Madison and Colt Kelley; three siblings: Clarence Squanda, Mary Lou (Jack) Brickel, and Marlene Sova; plus many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, William Kelley; eight sisters and brothers-in-law: Louise Squanda, Ralph Sova, Otto and June Eurich, Reinie and Lorraine Stebner, Jake and Terri Landskroener.

FUNERAL: Robert's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011 at St. Norbert Catholic Church, 126 W. Munger Road, (M-138) Munger. Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate with burial in Buena Vista Township Cemetery.

VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with Robert's family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A Vigil service will take place at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
