William "Alex" Osawabine, 18, of Mount Pleasant passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services for Alex will be held at the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribal Gym on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Joseph Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 2398 Ojibway Dr., Mt. Pleasant from Thursday, June 2 at 2 p.m. until Saturday, June 4 with a memorial walk to the Tribal Gym starting at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Alex's family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel, visitation, and service.
Alex was born on July 4, 1992 in Grand Rapids, the son of Christina Osawabine. Alex was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and involved in The Eagle's Nest Youth Center. He enjoyed playing basketball, watching NBA basketball, and sporting events.
Alex is survived by mother, Christina; brothers, Isiah and Zachary Osawabine; sisters, Marian and Sarah Osawabine; cousin, Avery Osawabine; grandparents, James (Celia) Osawabine of Mt. Pleasant; aunts, Sandra Jackson and Faith Osawabine; uncles, Amos Jackson, James Osawabine, and Jonah Osawabine, all of Mt. Pleasant; and many great aunts, uncles, and cousins.
