Mrs. Harriet Evelyna Castaneda (Ashquab) age 68 of Grand Rapids walked on Saturday May 28, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husband Benny Castaneda, son Vincent Ashquab Castaneda, granddaughter Tabitha K. Kendall, sisters; Gladys Peters, Ella High, Sandra Parney, Leona Ashquab, Loretta Lorraine Ashquab, brothers; Sherman Ashquab, Tom Ashquab and baby Grant Ashquab, her parents; Harold and Evelyn Ashquab, nephew; Gilbert High, great niece; Cheyenne Hendershot. Surviving are her children: Loretta, Asuncion, Evelyn and Leona Castaneda, grandchildren; Camie Castaneda, Cheyenne NewMoon, Cruise NewMoon, Ben Wilkins, Lee Hawk NewMoon, Jeffrey Kendall, great grandchildren; Aanzhenii Dandridge, Savannah Hernandez, and many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly.
Harriet always thought of others before herself. She was a member of Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe.
Funeral Service will be conducted Friday at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment Bradley Indian Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers West Mortuary, 585 Stocking Ave. NW
