Tribal Clerk’s office will start accepting September Tribal Children Welfare Program Affidavits Tuesday, July 5th . Deadline is Friday, August 5th by 5 pm.

 

Traditional Teaching in Saganing will take place on Wednesday, July 6th from 11 am to 1 pm at the Tribal Center.

 

Summer Fun Challenge Paintball Registration will be Thursday, July 7th  8 am in the Seniors Room of Tribal Operations. Paintball Trip is scheduled for  Saturday, July 23rd in Pinckney, Michigan. For more information call David Merrill at 989-775-4115.

 

Youth Council will meet on Wednesday, July 13th & July 27th 3:30 pm to 5 pm in the Tribal Gym Game Room and on Wednesday, July 6th & 20th   in the Tribal Ops Seniors Room from 4 pm to 5 pm.

 

Language Bingo will be on Thursday, July 7th  from 1 pm to 3 pm at Andahwod.

 

Traditional Healer, Donnie Dowd, will be at Behavioral Health on Thursday, July 7th for traditional healing from 10 am to 4 pm and a Men & Women’s Sweat from 5 pm to 10 pm.  Please call (989) 775-4850 for an appointment. 

 

Elders Bison Bed & Breakfast Lunch on Saturday, July 9th from 11 am to 1 pm.

 

Saganing Blood Drive will take place on Monday, July 11th from 6 am – 6 pm at the Saganing Tribal Center.

 

Peoples Powwow Pig Roast Fundraiser will be held at 7th Generation on Wednesday, July 13th from 11 am to 5 pm.

 

Medicine Wheel Teachings will also take place at 7th Generation on Wednesday, July 13th from 5 pm – 7pm.

                                                                                                                                                   

Higher Education Eagle Spirit Award Banquet will be taking place at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort Banquet Room on Wednesday, July 13th from 12 pm - 2 pm.

                                                        

All SCIT Tribal Member Elders from all districts can enjoy Elder’s Breakfast on Wednesday, July 13th & 27th  at Andahwod from 9 am to 10 am.

 

Kids and Culture takes place at Ziibiwing on Friday, July 15th at 10 am – 12 pm.

 

Tribal Observer August issue deadline is Friday, July 15th at 5 pm.

“Who’s Your Caddy” golf outing Saturday, July 16th at Maple Creek Golf Club in Shepherd. Tee off at 10 am. For more information contact the Recreation department at 989-775-4149.

 

Bingo with Friends will take place at the Saganing Tribal Center Tuesday, July 19th from 10:30 am to 2 pm.

 

Women’s Support Group meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at Behavioral Health.  Dinner, childcare and transportation provided – next meeting is Tuesday, July 19th.

 

Bingo with Friends will take place at Andahwod on Wednesday, July 20th from 1 pm to 2:30 pm. 

 

Saganing Health and Safety Fair will be held Thursday, July 21st from 10 am to 2 pm at the Saganing Tribal Center.

 

A Financial Workshop will take place on Thursday,  July 21st  at the Housing Conference Room starting at noon with lunch. 

 

Save the Date for Michigan Indian Family Olympics – Friday, July 22nd at CMU Bennett Track & Field. 

 

Housing will be sponsoring a Kickball Game at the Broadway Ball Field & Pavilion Monday, July 25th 4 pm to 8 pm.

 

Native Collection Showing at Ziibiwing will be Monday, July 25th through Saturday, July 30th from 10 am – 6 pm daily.

 

Ziibiwing NativeFest Car Bingo Tuesday, July 26th 5:30 pm to 9 pm.

 

NativeFest Music and Comedy Night at Ziibiwing  Wednesday, July 27th from 5:30 pm – 9 pm.

 

SCIT Powwow Weekend Tournaments at the Hill Campground taking place Friday, July 29th. Horseshoe and Cornhole Tournament registration begins at 11 am.

 

Save the Date for Saginaw Chippewa Indian Annual Powwow – Friday, Saturday & Sunday, July 29th, 30th & 31st.

 

Freedom Walk takes place on Saturday, July 30th. Meet at the Tribal Gym 7:30 am.

 

Tuesday Night Bass Fishing starts on Tuesday, May 31st and ends on Tuesday, August 23rd  - please call 775-4115 for more information. 

 

Summer Reading Program starts at the Tribal Library on Monday, June 13th and ends on Friday, July 29th.

 

Lacrosse practice takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at the Tribal Gym until the weather changes from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

 

The Tribal Clerk’s Office will be closed every Friday for walk in/desk services for Administrative Office Day starting in February. 

 

Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture takes place every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 3 – 6 pm at Behavioral Health on Shepherd Road.

 

Free Admission to Ziibiwing Exhibits from Memorial Day to Labor Day (May 30th to September 5th) to honor warriors and their families as part of the Blue Star Museums. 

 

Free Community Wild Rice Summer Course will take place on Fridays from 1 pm to 3 pm and/or 3 pm to 5 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm.  Please meet at the Tribal College East Building.

 

Struggling or need support?  Residential Treatment Center –Behavioral Health is now offering drop-in relapse prevention groups twice a week.  Mondays  -  5:30  pm to 7  pm  and  Fridays  -  11:30  am  to 1 pm.

 

The Seventh Generation Program has a sacred fire lunch every Thursday  from 11 am to 1 pm followed by Talking Circle  from 3 pm to 5 pm at the Elijah Elk building on the corner of Remus and Shepherd Rds.

 

Anishinaabe Ogitchedaw Veterans Society meets the first Tuesday of the month in the Seniors Room of Tribal Operations from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.

 

Enjoy Open Gym on Wednesdays at the Tribal Gym from 6 pm to 9 pm.

 

Women’s Traditions is held at Behavioral Health on Mondays from 5 pm to 6:30 pm.

 

Keyboarding and Learnkey is held on Tuesday from 2 pm to 4 pm and on Friday from 10 am to noon at the IT department. 

 

STEM Camp will take place on Tuesdays & Thursdays  from 6 pm to 8 pm at the SCTC Campus East Building.

 

American Indian Dances every Saturday in July at Ziibiwing. For more information please call 989-775-4750.

 

2016 Native Farmers Market starts on Tuesday, June 7th and ends on Tuesday, October 11th - hours are from 10 am to 4 pm.
