Zane "Cubby" Mikal Jewell, age 16, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at his home.
Funeral Services for Zane will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Ray Van Buskirk officiating. Interment will follow in the Chippewa Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Houston, TX or to Mid Michigan Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Zane was born on August 9, 1997 in Clare, the son of Keith and Tonia Jewell. Zane was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Zane loved numerous sports such as football, golf, and basketball. He also enjoyed four wheeling, mud bogging, and playing video games.
Zane was preceded in death by his grandfather, Steve Jewell and nephew, Andres Pelcher.
