Dorothy Helen Shawano, 91, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011.
Dorothy was born June 8, 1919, to Isaac and Lucy Pelcher. She was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. She loved going to Bingo, lunches with her daughter and granddaughter, going for car rides, and she dearly loved her cat, Stewart.
A memorial service for Dorothy will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Pego officiating. Interment will follow Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. and Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 1 p.m. until time of service.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Ann Shawano; son, Rick (Diane) Shawano; granddaughters, Lucy Shawano, Melinda Coffin, Melanie Scott, Shalee Shawano, Kelly (Robert) Clouse, and Bethal Merrill; grandsons, Glen Peter Coffin, Mario (Rosie) Shawano, Dustin Shawano, and David Merill; nephews, Beaver (Vivian) Pelcher, Earl (Mary) Pelcher, Carl (Mark) Pelcher, Steven (Susan) Pelcher, Clinton, Jr. (Honey) Pelcher, Mark (Nancy) Chapton, Ross Chapoton, and Williard (Linda) Chapoton; nieces, Barbara Chapoton, Renee (Luther) Bargardt, Sena (Mike) Hutchenson, many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-grandchildren, and many cousins.
