Red Chair Project - August 22, 2016 from 5-8PM
8/22/2016 8:00:00 AM - 7th Generation Programs

Red chair project kick off event begins august 22nd, 2016 from 5-8pm at the Seventh Generation Ceremonial Building. the Red Chair Project was conceived with the notion of calling attention to the tremendous human loss occuring within the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Community to addiction.

The empty chair symbolizes this human loss as yet another seat is vacant in tribal homes leaving families with heartache and sorrow. It is important for the community to find a way to illustrate and call attention to the human cost of addiction in a meaningful way, while illustrating the staggering numbers of people who have lost their battle with addiction.

Ben Hinmon will give a brief overview on what th ered chair project is. Guest speaker Bob Storrer Substance Abuse Counselor, Behavioral Health, guest speaker Rose Shomin, community member in recovery, together let's change our views on alcoholism and addiction. We are looking for community support and input. Everyone is Welcome!
