Mahnoomin Camp
Come over to 7th Gen and see the process of Wild Rice Finishing with Lee Sprague.
There are materials available to make your own dancing moccasins, ricing sticks and push poles.
This event will be on until 4pm today and tomorrow. Everyone is welcome!

Lee Sprague will give hands-on instruction on the art of
Mahnoominikewin (wild rice finishing).
You will learn how to construct your own wild ricing tools, and
have an opportunity to make your own dancing moccasins.

Thursday, October 8th:
10 a.m.— Intro to Mahnoominikewin (wild rice finishing)
10:30 a.m.—Wild rice parching
12:00 p.m.—Sacred Fire Lunch
1:00 p.m.—Wild rice tool making; ricing sticks & push poles
*There will also be a station for making dancing
moccasins, all materials you need will be
available.
Friday, October 9th:
10 a.m..—Continue Mahnoominikewin (wild rice finishing)
Throughout the day participants can work on wild ricing tools
12:00 p.m.—Lunch served; Mahnoomin Nboop (wild rice soup)
Saturday, October 10th:
9:00 a.m.—Continue Mahnoominikewin (wild rice finishing)
Finish up wild ricing tools and mocs
12:00 p.m.—Potluck, please bring a dish to pass
3:00 p.m.—Closing
