Jeremy Michael Sawmick

Jeremy Michael Sawmick, 58, of Mt

Pleasant went to be with his lord and

savior on August 26, 2023, at the U of

M Hospital in Ann Arbor surrounded by

his loving ftamily. Jeremy was born on

February 27, 1965, son of the late

George and Elsie (Wasaquam)

Sawmick. Jeremy was a member of the

Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan. Jeremy dedicated 31 years

of services to the Tribe, starting in the Security Department making his

way up to Director of Security and after retiring from that position he

went on to work for the Public Works Department. Jeremy enjoyed

golfing, traveling, attending church, fast cars, spending time with his

family and most importantly cherishing and cheering on his children.

Jeremy is survived by his lifelong sweetheart and mother of his children,

Shawn (Sawmick) Kimewan; his loving children, Justene and Noah

Sawmick; honorary grandchildren, Elsiaana and Vaughan: grand dogs,

Apollo Rae and Debo James; sisters, Yvonne (Anthony Sr.) Dyer of

Grand Rapids, MI, Michelle Pena of Holland, MI. Brother Daniel

(Margo) Sawmick of Mactier, Ontario Canada; and many nieces and

nephews.Jeremy was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ramona

Rodriguez, Gladys Hall, Ralph Sawmick, Samson Sawmick, Gregory

Sawmick, Zachariah Sawmick; brother in law, Jose Pena and his Wing

Man and brother Matthew V. Sprague. Funeral services for Jeremy will

be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Charles R. Lux

Family Funeral Home, with Rev. Doyle Perry officiating. Immediately

following will be an internment at the Woodland Cemetery in Rosebush.

Friends are invited to join the family one-hour prior for a visitation at the

funeral home and after the burial for a luncheon in the Lincoln Reception

Center (located next to the funeral home). Those wishing to express a
