Final Journey
JACKSON, LORNE ROY, age 86, of Weidman, passed away
Monday, January 16, 2023, at My Mid-Michigan Hospital in
Midland.
Funeral Services for Lome will be held at Tribal Gym on
Friday, January 20, 2023, at 1 p.m. A luncheon will
immediately follow in the Gym. Burial will take place in the
Fairview Cemetery in Weidman. The family will receive
friends on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available
at the funeral chapel.
Lome was born January 5, 1937, in Rosebush, the son of Arthur and Ida
(Johnson) Jackson. Following high school, Lome joined the U.S. Navy and was
stationed in Okinawa, Australia, and San Diego. He married Charlene Bennett in
1962 and she preceded him in death in October 1983. Throughout his working
years, Lome taught building trades at Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, worked
for Williams Form Engineering in Grand Rapids, and built several homes at Lake
Isabella. He was a proud member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and the
Weidman Eagles #4540. Lome lived every day to its fullest and was always up
for fun and adventure. He loved to enjoy his morning coffee with family and
friends and going to the casino. Lome had a passion for NASCAR, especially his
favorite driver, Tony Stewart.
Lorne is survived by his children Lillian "Lilly" Olson, Jeffrey "Jeff' Jackson,
Loma Jackson, all of Weidman; brother Stuart Jackson; grandchildren Eric
(Brandy) Olson, Benjamin (Alex) Olson, Shannon (James) Prill, Joshua (Julie)
Jackson, Samantha (Thomas) Kirklin, Lisa (Gustavo) Borton, Tyler Olson,
Matthew Stewart, Brandy Jackson, Mandy (Adam) Flachs, Wendy (Cody) Smith,
Brett (Heather) Jackson, Alex Bogart, Harlene Jackson; great-grandchildren
Justine (Jordan) Prill, Ethan Prill, Lexie Prill, Noah Prill, Jace Kirklin, Ellie
Jackson, Sunnie Jackson, Isaac Jackson, Emily Jackson, Allie Jackson; greatgreat-
grandchildren Josie, Jolene, Skyler, Devin, Jackson, Shelby, Connor, and
Aubrey; long time friends Don and Kathy Abbott, Jane Gottleber, Ross Blackmer,
and Karen Lindsey.
Lome was preceded in death by his parents; wife Charlene; son Lome Jackson,
Jr.; daughters Laure and Lisa Jackson; grandsons Preston Sprague, Brandon
Jackson; granddaughters Jordan Lee Olson, Kelli Jackson; great granddaughter
Kaylee Flachs; sisters Artina Starkey, Arlene Amott, Ruth Lenhart; brothers,
Randy Jackson, Bill Jackson, Wilfred Jackson, Terry Jackson, Gordan Jackson,
Victor Jackson, Elmer Jackson, and Homer Jackson; and son-in-law Richard
Olson.
