In an effort to provide bonus coverage, Team Observer is proud to announce the return of one the favorite family events during powwow weekend, the Freedom Walk ‘15.  The community based effort will take place at the Eagles Nest Tribal Gym, 7070 East Broadway in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, July 25.  Doors and registration will be open starting at 7am and a free continental breakfast served at 8am, sponsored by Migizi and catered by our Waterpark favorite, Nbakade Restaurant.

A program hosted by SCIT Public Relations and MC Frank Cloutier is scheduled immediately following the meal that will include remarks from Tribal Chief Steve Pego and other special speakers, singers and drummers.  The Anishinabe Ogitchedaw warriors will be joining Elder Roger High for a special Eagle Feather presentation.

The Freedom Walk 2015 is slated to start behind the gym at 9am with walkers going southbound to the powwow grounds (SECR Guest Services courtesy shuttles will be available for transport up to the grounds and back to the gym).  This community-based effort is sponsored by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe … “Working Together for our Future.”
