Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s Project Venture Tribal Youth Program was nominated to receive this Free 3 Day Virtual Arts integration through WE ARE LIVING ARTS. This program is based out of Southern California and was created by Jeri Brunoe-an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, Oregon & nationally known and highly respected public speaker, youth leadership expert, an educator as well as a gifted writer, and an actor.

The goal of We are Living Arts is to Create, heal, and inspire Indigenous Native Youth through positive peer-to-peer mentoring, cultural integration, and an exploration of all ARTS. This program was created to support youth to develop, experience, build skills and enhance relationships with oneself, peer mentors, artists, and the arts.We Are Living Arts (WALA) is a captivating and unique experiential experience designed for Native youth to find their artistic voice. The WALA program experience will provide youth with an opportunity to work with youth peer trainers from their own community along with national and internationally known Native artists to expand their artistically and positive character traits. The virtual sessions will be conducted for 4 hours a day for three consecutive days. During the WALA virtual experience, youth will work with the WALA staff and consultants to create an artistic project while expanding their positive character attributes. Youth will also be guided to engage their talents by hosting an event in their community that will showcase their talent/art via poetry, film projects, photography, dance, music, comedy, painting, acting, etc. The WALA program experience assists youth to become solution-oriented, build resiliency, and embrace positive self-identity through various restorative practices and creative Arts.
