Fall 2021 Youth Summit

Panels of educators from a variety of institutions and

backgrounds will be available to provide information

about the education profession and pathways to higher

educational opportunities for Indigenous students.

• Open to Students in grades 6-12 who are SCIT Members and community.

• Lunch will be provided.

• Participants are required to wear masks and social distance.

• This event is co-hosted by the SCIT Youth Council and the SCIT

Explore Education project funded by a grant from the Michigan

Department of Education’s Future Proud Michigan Educators initiative.

• School administrators have been notified of the summit and asked to

excuse absences of participating students. Attendance will be taken

at the event and a list of attendees will be sent to the schools.
