In response to Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Executive Order 2020-35, found at: https://www.michigan.gov/whitmer/0,9309,7-387-90499_90705-524032--,00.html ALRD and Sasiwaans Immersion is to be closed for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. The decision to go into a temporary closure directly supports the attempt to reduce the spread of COVID-19 to our students, associates, families and community. The current status of COVID-19 is continually changing as more data and information about this virus becomes available. ALRD will continue to monitor the pandemic, legislation, and executive orders on all levels of government and respond accordingly.
ALRD’s leadership team is working proactively to ensure fully restoring all Anishinaabemowin services to the SCIT community when current executive orders arelifted.
In the coming weeks, updates and 2020-21 registration information will be made public through SCIT media outlets.
