Obituary

JACKSON, VIVIAN LORRAINE, age 88, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at McLaren Bay Region Hospital.

Private burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.

Vivian was born April 13, 1931, in Dowagiac, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Jackson) Collins. She married Paul Jackson, Jr. on July 1, 1966. Vivian worked as a punch press operator for Pridgeon & Clay for 20 years. She and Paul were evangelical missionaries who traveled throughout the United States for many years. She was a proud member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Vivian loved crocheting, beading, weaving baskets, and macramé.

Vivian is survived by her husband Paul Jackson, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; four children Barbara (Simon) Arzola of Mt. Pleasant, Vincent Gallegos of Grand Rapids, Gail (Rory) Smith of Sparta, Shelly Rickert of Grand Rapids; 20 grandchildren Lisa (Juan), Rachel, Andy, Simon, Sheilah, Stephanie, Robert, Frank, Soniqua (Josh), Eric, Phillip (Jen), Michele, Lori, Kari (Ben), James (Theresa), Sarah, Jonathan, David (Tabitha), Rebekah, and Elizabeth (Chris); 53 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; brothers Steve Collins of Bradley, Ronald Collins of Six Lakes, Lyle (Franceau) Collins of Idaho; and sister Doris (Ardean) Romer of Weidman.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; son Frank Gallegos, Jr.; daughter Sheilah Gallegos; great- grandson Simon Chippewa; brother Charles Collins; and sister Joyce Hart.
