Healthy Start Program wants to thank all the people who made the fanciest dress dance party such fabulous occasion. One of our goals is to incorporate culture along with fun and learning, which is easy when we get to collaborate with special knowledgeable people such as Lee Ann with her staff at 7th gen, Behavioral Health Prevention specialist and DJ Lupe , Language specialist Isabelle, last but not least Judy and Jenna from Nimkee Public Health.

To quote a couple of lines from the movie Sound of Music, “Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes… These are a few of my favorite things “

I just couldn’t stop smiling, I was scared that no one was going to show up, but I was anxious for nothing, because over 130 people gathered at the 7th Generation cultural center to show off their best dance moves.

It was amazing and so fun to see the children dancing with each other and with their parents. What a night to remember! The dances included group dancing as well as tribal music dancing. Toddlers just started moving their bodies to the rhythm instinctively.

Sorry for those who could not attend the fancy dress dance party event of the year! No worries, I’m sure we will do it again next year.
