2009 SCIT LEGISLATIVE DAY AT STATE CAPITAL
On June 18, the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Council joined Public Affairs Associates for the 2009 SCIT Legislative Day at the state capitol in Lansing. Tribal Chief Fred Cantu Jr. was accompanied by fellow Council members Audrey Falcon, Ruth Moses and Michele Stanley. Tribal Police Chief Dave Crockett, Public Relations Manager Frank Cloutier and Public Health RN Susan Sowmick were on hand to speak with legislators about public safety, health care and Tribal governance.
Steve Pego and the Snowbirds offered traditional hand drum song in the Capitol Rotunda. An estimated 400 legislators and state government staff attended the event.
