Barbara Gibson, Senior Hearings Officer
Barbara
has been an attorney since 1984 and has practiced privately
and in the non-profit sector. Most recently, she was program
counsel for the Legal Services Corporation in Washington,
D.C. She is a state recognized mediator and case evaluator
and has been with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe since
October of 2002. Barbara served as the attorney for the Interim
Membership Commission and currently is the director of the
Office of Administrative Hearings.
Leif E. Rasmussen,Hearing Officer
Leif has been an attorney since 1989 and has practiced Indian law for over 20 years.
He has been general counsel to the Upper Sioux Community in Minnesota for 18 years
and has served as an election judge, hearings officer and Tribal Court judge for a
number of tribes in the Midwest. He was appointed Hearings Officer for the SCIT
Office of Administrative Hearings in 2011.
Michelle R. Brown,
Adm. Assistant
Michelle has been with the Office of Administrative Hearings for 3 years. She was born
and raised in the Upper Peninsula, but moved to Central Michigan 10 years ago. She
lives in Harrison with her husband Tony and their 3 children.
Erika Schunk, Adm. Assistant
Erika is originally from northern Indiana with a degree in Agricultural Communications from Purdue University. Erika joined the OAH staff in September of 2011. Recently married, Erika and her husband, Travis, reside in Clare where they maintain a family cattle farm.
Jane Clark, Court Recorder
Jane has been a court reporter since 1980 and owns Clark Reporting. She also co-owns
Clark Family Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services with her husband, Dane, and lives in
Mt. Pleasant. They have 3 children and 3 grandsons.
