RE: March 23 Executive Order 2020-21

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, in support of the current Stay Home Stay Safe Executive Order issued by MI Gov. Whitmer on March 23rd, has moved from an "Emergency Closure" to a "Temporary Closure" status.

Executive order #2020-21 requires all MI residents to stay in their home unless they are an essential worker, or are getting necessities like food and gas, or taking care of a loved one. Therefore the Housing Office is operating on a limited basis with reduced staff all next week April 6-10 and is closed for the Easter Holiday on April 13.

Those of you affected by the temporary closure whose income is reduced; the Tribe's Housing Program has built-in flexibility_ Your rental fee is based on your income and when your income is reduced ... so is the rental fee. Housing will make the necessary adjustments to your accounts when normal business operations resumes and you provide proof of current income.

In the meantime those of you whose income is not affected by the temporary closure can mail in your rent payment to the address listed at the top of this letter or you can drop it in the secure mailbox located in the front office foyer. You can access the foyer Monday through Friday 8am until 5pm. Staff will issue you a receipt and send that to you via US Mail.
