Food is Medicine Workshop

8/18/2026 3:21:00 PM - Tribal College (SCTC)

Aanii Boozhoo kina awiiya (Hello everyone),

Join us at the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College (SCTC) community room & front lawn weather permitting on August 27th from 5:30-7:30pm. As part of our Food is Medicine series, Chef Sam Anglin will guide participants through hands-on prepping and preparing cayenne hot sauce to take home. Because this is a busy and time-consuming class, Chef Sam will only be providing a light snack of chips & salsa. Join us in the making of hot sauce and my talk on the healing medicinal properties that cayenne has and prepare a hot pepper flake spice jar with me.

The class is limited to 20 participants, and registration is required. Please refer to the flyer for additional details. We look forward to having you join us at the Tribal College as we share teachings of food as medicine, ensuring you leave with knowing what tools to use and obtaining the knowledge needed to support your own harvest and processing at home.

Contact me by email or phone using the information on the flyer. Leave your full name and contact info so that I can reach you if you leave a message. This is a make-and-take workshop. Please share within your departments and keep in mind space is limited for 20 participants and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Miigwech (Thank you),
