With profound sadness and hearts filled with love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and friend. While our hearts are shattered by her loss, we are forever grateful for the love she gave so freely and the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
Our Beautiful Angel, Amy Lynn Gemmil, age 47, our dear daughter, mother, sister and aunt, passed away after a difficult illness on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She was born in Bay City on Thursday, September 7, 1978 and has resided here since. Amy was an active and proud member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. She had a great interest in native American culture and its history.
She was a truly beautiful woman, both inside and out. Her strength, kindness, compassion, and unconditional love touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a heart that welcomed others without judgment and a smile that could light up any room. She found joy in life’s simple blessings and treasured every moment spent with those she loved.
She loved listening to 90s music, especially songs that brought back cherished memories. She loved spending time at the beach, where the sound of the waves brought her peace. She also loved getting dressed up, doing her hair and makeup, and feeling beautiful. Her beauty radiated far beyond her appearance. It came from the kindness in her heart, the warmth in her spirit, and the love she gave to everyone around her.
Above everything else, her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter, Destinee, and her son, Devawn, who were the center of her world. The love she gave them will remain with them forever and continue to guide them every day.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Destinee; her son, Devawn; her mother, Margaret Elizabeth Goulette; her father, Gerald Ice; her brother, Jeremy Keith Gemmil, and his wife, Lindsey Gemmil; her sister, Sondra Ice; her favorite aunt, Toni Timreck; her beloved nieces and nephews, Jaylah Gemmil, Jayden Gemmil, Jayce Gemmil and Moniqua Gemmil; along with many other cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her love.
She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved sister, Angela Ice, her father, Robert Goulette and her cherished grandmothers, Grandma Gemmil, and Grandma Ice whose loving embrace has welcomed her home.
Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that her love will never leave us. Your laughter, your smile, your strength, and your love will continue to live on in each of us. Until we meet again, we will love you always and miss you beyond words. Rest in Paradise. Forever in our hearts.

The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Trahan Funeral Chapel with Mr. EJ Brown officiating. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Charitable contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
