Benjamin Victor Willis Sr.

A Memorial Service for Benjamin will take place at Clark Family Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 1 p.m. with his nephew, Father Maurice Sands officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will greet friends beginning at 12 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Clinton Grove Cemetery, 21189 Cass Ave, Clinton Township, Michigan 48036. Memorial contributions may be made to The Glioblastoma Research Organization, 2045 Biscayne Blvd., #189, Miami, Florida, 33137. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

 

Benjamin was born August 19, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Isaac Sequajaw and Pearl (Walker) Willis. Benjamin was a U.S. Army veteran. He spent over 30 years working for the Chrysler Corporation at the Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Benjamin loved his job, going to the casino, collecting cologne, reading calculus books, and spending all of his time with his grandchildren.

 

Benjamin is survived by his grandchildren, all in Michigan, Amanda (Willis) Queen of Chesterfield Twp., Benjamin V. Willis, III of Roseville, Avery Willis, Isaac Willis of Gladwin, Jacob Willis of Gladwin; great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents; all of his siblings: Kenneth, Priscilla, Catherine, Walter, Floyd, Shirley, Emma, Margie, and Julia. Benjamin will be laid to rest next to his son, Benjamin Victor Willis, Jr. who preceded him in death.
