Giving Tree Giveaway

Please join us today at 10:30 am for the Free Tree Giveaway! Trees are available for tribal members and SCIT/SCTC employees.  Trees will be 1 to 2 feet tall and will fit in smaller cars for transport.

The Planning department’s Environmental team and the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College are hosting a Free Tree Giveaway starting at 10:30 am (until trees are gone) in the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College’s Parking Lot (5805 E. Pickard St. Mt. Pleasant, MI).

As a community, we can work together to plant trees to improve our Tribal land and water health by providing habitat for wildlife, improving air quality, capturing and purifying stormwater runoff, and reducing climate change impacts while also promoting community involvement and environmental awareness.

The 2025 Tree List includes the following species: Eastern Redbud, Sugar Maple, Sycamore, Tuliptree, Boxelder, White Paper Birch, and Red Oak.

**Each tree order is limited to 10 per person (6 in Saganing) & you cannot request more than 2 of each species – first come first serve, orders will not be held.
