Stephen M. Bonnau Sr.,75, of Montgomery, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025 at home. He was born on April 28, 1949 in Bay City to Ivan and Virginia (Silas) Bonnau. Stephen married Ruth Anne (Snyder) on August 8, 1987 and she survives.


Stephen graduated from Pinconning High School. He was a member of the Camden Missionary Church and also the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan. Stephen enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, gardening, billiards, shuffleboard and golf. He was a true artist and enjoyed making gun stocks and all of his own fishing flies. Stephen and Ruth loved escaping the cold Michigan winters in southern Texas. Above all, Stephen loved his family and treasured every minute with them.


In addition to his wife, Ruth Anne, Stephen is survived by his Father Ivan (Mary Lou Bannister) Bonnau Sr, three daughters, Dawn (Chris Pick) Bonnau of Parchment, Mona (Robin Mitchell) Will of Fort Wayne, April (Greg) Allen of Grand Haven; two sons, Stephen Bonnau Jr. of Niles, Richard (Erica) Bonnau Sr. of Plainwell; four sisters, Robin Bonnau, Cheryl (Jeff) Roy, Kelly Bell, Shelly Bonnau and two brothers, Terry (Jay) Bonnau, Ivan (Joanna) Bonnau Jr.; seven grandchildren, Derrick, Devon, Graham, Zachary, Celestia, Richard Jr., Jarl and four great-grandchildren. Stephen was also survived by several Bonnau, Snyder and Kennedy extended family members that meant the world to him.


Stephen was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Helt.


A visitation for Stephen M. Bonnau Sr. will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 2-5 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Camden Missionary Church.
