James "Bud" Floyd Peters, age 63, of Grand Rapids, passed
away Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Mercy Health-St.
Mary's in Grand Rapids.
Funeral Services for Bud will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday,
October 2, at Clark Family Funeral with Greg Mandoka
officiating. In memory of Bud, the family asks family and
friends to wear their favorite sports team clothing - except
Michigan State University!
A luncheon will follow the service in the Reflections Reception Center. The
family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, October 1, and 10 a.m. until
the time of service on Saturday, October 2, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
James was born on August 21, 1958, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Floyd and
Marvel Ruth (Neyome) Peters. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School.
Bud served our country in the National Guard. He worked as a grinder for
Imperial Metal Products and previously for Irwin Seating. Bud also worked as a
heavy equipment operator at Berman Brothers Steel Corporation where he was
very well-liked by everyone. Bud married Sherry Lynne "Lewis" Peters on
August 24, 1984. He was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Bud
enjoyed all sports, including NASCAR, and was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions,
Tigers, and Red Wings. He loved watching his sons play sports. Bud enjoyed
going to many rock 'n' roll concerts, spending time with family and friends,
traveling, especially amusement parks like Cedar Point, Disney and Universal
Studios.
Bud is survived by his wife Sherry Lynne Peters of Grand Rapids; his sons
Jimmy Peters and Anthony Peters; brothers Scott (April) Warren; and sisters
Lillian (Reggie) Steele, Stephanie Peters and Harley the Cat, and Deborah (Marco) Guillen; nieces and nephews, Destiny Harper, Richard Madison Iv,
Morningstar Quin, Elizabeth Reitsma, Ben Warren, Andrew Warren, Matthew
Warren, Tenisha Abuado, Marco Guillen, Jr.; and many close friends (Dian
Alexander and Mike Agema).
Bud was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Marvel Ruth (Neyome)
Peters; maternal grandparents Wilson and Sara Collins; and paternal grandparents
James and Helen Peters.
Bud touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
