Alffredetta "Alfie" Ann Jenkins - December 3, 1945 - April 18, 2026

Alffredetta Ann “Alfie” Jenkins passed away peacefully at her home in Mt. Pleasant surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

 

Visitation will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 22, at 1:00 PM with Joe Sowmick and Rev. Perry officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Denver Township Cemetery. Everyone is invited to join the family back at the Reflections Reception Center for a luncheon at the conclusion of the Graveside Service. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Alfie’s honor. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. The family requests that all who are able wear purple in Alfie's honor.

 

Alfie was born on December 3, 1945, to parents Thomas Chancey and Leona May (Davis) Chamberlain. Alfie and her brother, Alvin were the 1st set of twins born at CMCH.

 

Alfie loved bowling, golf, playing video poker and slots at the casino. Alfie graduated from Murphy’s Beauty School before getting a job with Hitachi, so she did not pursue her cosmetology career. She spent over 10 years working for Hitachi, then went to work for the SCIT at Bingo in the gym. She continued to work for the casino and became supervisor for coat check, valet, and phone operators. working for SCIT for over 16 years.

 

Alfie loved the Faith Indian Church of the Nazarene, leading choir, working on fundraiser days where she made awesome blanket dogs and frybread with friends Barb Sprague and Rosie Wassegijig. She really missed the “olden days” music, whether it be gospel, country, or Motown 50’s and 60’s.

 

Alfie is survived by her husband, Michael R. Jenkins, four children, Christopher Moses, Sr., Scott Moses, Sr., Paul Moses, Sharrie Moses, sisters Juanita Slater and Esther Chatfield, 9 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, lots of nieces, nephews, and her extended family on Michael’s side, George and Patricia Marek. Alfie wants you to know that she will be waiting on the other side of Jordan for all of you.

 

Alfie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Leona, sisters Margaret (Arnold) Sowmick, Joyce (Robert) Francis, Marilyn (Richard) Sprague, brothers Thomas Chamberlain, Robert Chamberlain, and twin brother Alvin Chamberlain, brothers in law John Williams, Chuck Slater, Sr., and Wallace Chatfield.
