STARKEY, LISA, age 61, of Shepherd, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at her home.

Funeral Services for Lisa will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Tribal Gym

with Sam McClelland officiating, with a luncheon to follow. Interment of cremains will take place

in the spring. The family will greet friends beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the service on

Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the

funeral chapel.

Lisa was born July 24, 1964, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Keith Mandoka and Florence

(Kahgegab) White. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. Lisa was a member of the

Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, where she also worked in various positions for the tribe and

Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort. She married Richard J. Starkey on July 25, 1988, spending 36

years married before Richard passed away November 19, 2024. Lisa loved spending time with

Richard and all of her family, playing cards, dancing, and going to concerts. One of her favorite

pastimes was to visit Texas Roadhouse, where she was well loved by the staff.

Lisa is survived by her daughter Stephanie (John) Spanne of Mt. Pleasant; son Matthew Starkey

of Lansing; grandchildren Adrianna, Miingin, Aanzhenii, Jordan, Aaron, Lucas, Nizhoni, and

Binoojiing; mother Florence (Mike) White of Clare; siblings Jeanette Mandoka Carpenter of Mt.

Pleasant, Brad (Michelle) Mandoka of Clare, Greg Mandoka of Clare, Rachel Mandoka of Mt.

Pleasant; George Mandoka; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father and husband Richard.
