No More Stolen Sisters Event

As promised, after many months of planning and collecting red dresses, I am proud to announce the No More Stolen Sisters, a Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) Event, on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 5-6:30 pm at The Hill Campground. Red Dress exhibits are being featured all throughout the community starting the beginning of April, until the middle of May to bring recognition to this powerful movement. Locations are listed on the attached flyer, please take the time to read the small print.

 

Please join the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan’s Behavioral Health Victim Services, Native Connections Program, the Zonta Club of Mt. Pleasant, R.I.S.E Advocacy, Inc., McLaren Central Michigan, CMU Office of Indigenous Affairs and many other departments on May 5th, to gain awareness of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Movement and hear from guest speakers. Joel Postma, Regional MMIP Coordinator of the Great Lakes Region for the U.S. Department of Justice, Nicholas DePlonty and Connor Frisch, Special Agents of the Missing and Murdered Unit from Bureau of Indian Affairs – Office of Justice Services who have graciously offered their time to speak on how their programs are helping to prioritize MMIP cases and fulfill the Justice Departments commitment to improving public safety in Indian Country. I would love to give them a HUGE turn out from our community, so please share this email and flyer with family, friends, co-workers, or strangers. We all look very forward to seeing you there! I encourage you to wear red the day of the event to show support!!

 

Also, as mentioned earlier, please see attached flyer for Art Reach of Mid-Michigan’s REDress Reception being held on April 24, 2025 from 5-6:30 pm. Where there will be light refreshments, a speaker, Melissa Pamp, and interactive Missing and Murdered Indigenous art. We would love to see you here as well!
