William Andrew Snowden

William Andrew Snowden, Sr., age 82, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at North Woods Nursing Center in Farwell.

Visitation for William will be held at Chippewa Township Cemetery on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Graveside Services will immediately follow with Benjamen Evers officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pardee Cancer Foundation.

William was born on November 27, 1942, in Port Huron, son of William and Mary Lee (Tipkey) Snowden. William was a proud member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and graduated from Lapeer White High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from Central Michigan University. William honorably served his country in the United States Army 82nd Airborne. After his time in the military, William worked for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe as an environmentalist for 15 years. He married Linnie Marie Sutphin on April 13, 1964, in Lapeer. William enjoyed working on model semis and trailers, as well as playing guitar and listening to music.

William is survived by his two sons, Shad (Millisa) Snowden of Edmore and William Jr., (Diane) Snowden of Coldwater; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sister, Leanne Snowden of Suttons Bay.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Linnie; sons, JDW Snowden and Brett Henry; parents; and brother, Walter Snowden.
