Press Release - Spring 2022 2% Distribution

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe (SCIT) has scheduled their semi-annual 2% distribution for the Spring 2022 cycle. This spring SCIT will be dispersing funds derived from Class III gaming at its properties: Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort and Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel. The Tribe will be distributing $2,338,138.87 in Isabella County ($1,753,604.15 for Government and $584,534.72 for Education) and another $1,009,162.27 in Arenac and Northern Bay County ($706,413.59 for Government and $302,748.68 for Education). This distribution cycle saw a combined 250 individual requests submitted by both the local governments and schools.
Tribal Chief, Theresa Peters Jackson explains, “The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe is committed to collaborating with our schools and governments by funding projects that benefit the needs of all of our local residents. We continue to have open dialogue with our local partners and discuss the opportunities for bridging the gaps in providing assistance in an array of vital categories. We are ensuring that many of the public safety, local infrastructure, key mental health and academic services among others areas are addressed in our community utilizing these funds.”
The Arenac and Northern Bay County distribution will take place at the Saganing Tribal Center located at 5447 Sturman Road, Standish, Michigan on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. The Isabella County distribution will take place on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in the Black Elk Building located at 7500 Soaring Eagle Blvd, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
