SCIT Tribal Member Career Development
Career Planning Process
Seven Step Career Development Process based off of the NCDA's official Career Planning Process, to assist SCIT Tribal Members in entering and succeeding in the Tribal workforce. It is our goal to increase the number of successful Native American Employees within our Tribal Organizations.
The Career Development Process is an independent journey that involves developing and refining your goals. This journey unfolds throughout life as you gain skills, knowledge, and experiences. Although career development is not a linear process, it starts with recognizing a need for change, it involves learning about yourself, exploring your interests, narrowing your options, and finding a fitting occupation.
We are here to support and encourage your career journey efforts. We want you to find your inspiration, dream big for yourself, follow those dreams and grow with the Organization. Mnaajtoon Enaamdaman (Honor Your Dream/Vision)

Career Self-Assessments
Find a career that matches your interests, interest assessments, career aptitude tests, and career quizzes can help you identify careers that meet your interests. Interest assessments usually ask you a series of questions about what you like and don't like to do. Then they match your likes and dislikes to careers. When you choose a career that matches your overall interests, you're more likely to enjoy your job. You're also more likely to be successful.

Temporary Positions
Temporary Clerical Employees may be called to work with very little advanced notice. Temporary assignments can be anywhere from 1 day to 6 months in length. This depends on the need of the department where the temporary employee will be placed. We have a Temporary Clerical Pool and General Labor Pool.
Clerical Pool is temporarily working in an office setting: working on computers, standard office equipment, and answering telephones (i.e. Administrative Assistant, File Clerk, Tutor…).
General Labor Pool tasks are to assist staff in housekeeping, grounds work and general maintenance and repair of buildings.
Must be able to meet background requirements of department placement, drug screens are required of positions that require Tribal Driver’s License.
