Nearly $4 million in 2 Percent Distribution Funds Awarded to Local Communities

Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Chief Fred Cantu Jr. and Tribal Public Relations Director Joseph Sowmick both greet an audience of recipients and honored guests at the Tuesday, Nov. 21 Fall 2006 Two Percent Distribution Awards ceremony held at 10 a.m. in the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Operations Seniors' Room. The fall awards totalled $3,918,132.66. The two percent distributions are made semi-annually.

Since these local assessments began in 1994, the Tribe has contributed just over $82 million to the local governments' and schools' economies.
