Police recognized for Michigan Law Enforcement Contingent

On November 22, 2005, the Michigan State Police honored those individuals and law enforcement officers throughout Michigan who served on the Contingent to Louisiana Katrina aid response group. Tribal police personnel who were honored are Sgt. Jerry Smith, Officer Kip Moe, Officer Jeremy Wilkins and Officer Craig Wilson. State Police Col. Tadarial J. Sturdivant said, "You are the people who make Michigan stand out in the crowd."

Other organizations that were recognized included the Lansing Sheraton Hotel, Michigan Information Technology Dept., Life EMS Ambulance, Barry-Eaton District and Ingham County Health Dept., and the WJRT / ABC-12 TV station. All played a vital role in relief for the Katrina victims.
