The Ziibiwing Center is currently offering 1-6 non-paid internship positions per term. These positions are available from January-April, May-August, September-December. The available internship positions are: Marketing & Events Intern, Website and CopyWrite Intern, Cultural Resource Management Intern, Non-profit Administration Intern, and Educational Curriculum Development Intern.

This position serves as the Intern to the Commercial Services Manager and/or Assistant Manager for the Ziibiwing Center (ZC). The Retail supervisor intern will assist in all supervisory duties, including assisting with multiple retail projects, and learning and enforcing policies and procedures. The Retail supervisor intern will learn and eventually oversee two different Point of Sales (POS) systems in all of the gift shops. This position requires strong communication and customer service skills, patience, flexibility, integrity, a high level of energy, and the ability to stay calm and collected under stress.
This position serves as the Intern to the Cultural Resource Development Team Leader for the Ziibiwing Center (ZC). The Educational Development Intern will be responsible for becoming familiar with ZC programs and goals to make recommendations on needed changes in curriculum, instruction, and/or program organization. The Educational Development Intern will also be responsible for consulting with ZC staff to develop new plans for programs, curriculum resources, and delivery tools. This position requires excellent team work and communication skills, patience, adaptability, and integrity. Candidates for this position should also have knowledge of K-12 and/or secondary education, Michigan Curriculum Standards and Benchmarks, educational trends, educational technology, and educational materials and organization.
This position serves as the Intern to the Cultural Resource Management Team Leader/Collections System Manager for the Ziibiwing Center (ZC). The Cultural Resource Management/Collections Intern will be responsible for assisting with the safe and secure storage and ongoing care of the collections held at the Ziibiwing Center. This position will also assist in preparing artifacts, specimens, and/or works of art for exhibition, coordinating aspects of borrowing and lending objects, and digital imaging of artifacts for collections management systems. This position requires high standards of duty and responsibility in regards to the care and handling of extremely valuable Anishinabek artifacts and archives, as well as proficiency with various computer software/computer applications, and strong organizational skills.
This position serves as the Intern to the Sales and Events Coordinator for the Ziibiwing Center (ZC). All visitors will receive excellent customer service from this division whether it be a phone call for bookings, marketing request, special event, special guest, workshop or questions about the Ziibiwing Center or the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan. The Marketing & Events Intern position will be responsible for developing marketing plans, enhancing events and following through with marketing endeavors dealing with special events and programming.
This position serves as the Intern to the Cultural Arts Specialist for the Ziibiwing Center (ZC). The Website & Copy Write Intern position will be responsible for writing clear, concise, informative, and persuasive copy for advertising materials including website, direct mail, promotional materials, and special projects as assigned. This position requires strong writing and editing skills, the ability to communicate in both a verbal and non-verbal manner, and a self-motivated individual that readily accepts new challenges with a positive attitude.
