Permanent Exhibit

Experience The Story & History:

Every culture seeks to tell their story and here is ours. The Diba Jimooyung (Telling our Story) permanent exhibit tells the story of the original people of the Great Lakes.

Walking through the 15 areas of our exhibit, Diba Jimooyung teaches about our struggles to hold onto our land, language, and lifeways.

The Diba Jimooyung permanent exhibit offers programs for all ages to learn about the original people of the Great Lakes.

With this permanent exhibit, we have the privilege to honor the courage of our ancestors and grandparents, the promise of our youth, and the determination of our people.

Plant Walk Exhibit

Walk Through The Ziibiwing Center Grounds:

This seasonal exhibit on the Ziibiwing Center grounds is available June through September.

With over forty different types of plants that were (and still are) traditionally used by the Anishinabek, this exhibit is a great learning opportunity for students of all ages. Each type of plant is labeled with its English (common) name and its name in our traditional Anishinabek language.

Stop by the Visitor Services Desk to borrow our Plant Walk Booklet with information on each plant and its uses.

Also, check out a pair of binoculars and head to our Bird Observation Point on the Southwest side of the building to see if you can spot any of the local bird population. Information on the birds in the area is on display there.

Enduring Spirit

A Photographic Retrospective:

Located throughout the Soaring Eagle Casino & the Ziibiwing Center

The story of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan is one of faith, perserverance, and resiliency.

The Enduring Spirit of Our People, sustained through generations, comes from the love we have for our children, life and nature, and from our care and deep respect for others.

We have pulled together as a people to overcome life's obstacles to secure a better future for our children and their children yet to come.

Most photographs within The Enduring Spirit of Our People exhibit are available for replication for a nominal fee. Visit the Ziibiwing Center gift shop for more information.
