The Ziibiwing Center of Anishinabe Culture & Lifeways and Sundance Institute present Film Forward: Advancing Cultural Dialogue. You're invited to pre-register for the Sunday, May 15 FREE Film Symposium for Young Adults (Ages 15-25). All May 15th groups must pre-register and book in advance. Sundance Institute Film Forward: "Advancing Cultural Dialogue"

Five American and five international contemporary films were selected for the program. Film Forward will travel to six U.S. states and six countries reaching a number of underserved communities in each location. The Ziibiwing Center and Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan were selected as one of the six U.S. screening locations. The Ziibiwing Center will showcase 6 of the 10 films for the Mt. Pleasant and surrounding communities on May 16 and 17 at the Mt. Pleasant Celebration! Cinemas. No pre-registration is necessary - tickets will be available the day of. All screenings are FREE and open to the public.

The film screenings will include Amreeka by Cherien Dabis, Boy by Taika Waititi, Freedom Riders by Stanley Nelson, La Mission by Peter Bratt, A Small Act by Jennifer Arnold, and Winter's Bone by Debra Granik. The visiting filmmakers are Peter Bratt (La Mission) and Taika Waititi (Boy). Peter will provide a film discussion on Monday following the screening of La Mission and Taika will provide discussion on Tuesday after the screening of Boy.
