Dawn Jackson is a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan. Her painting style reflects the graphic and colorful imagery of traditional animation, using cel vinyl paint and painting backwards on layers of clear acetate to create striking depth and dimension. This technique was explored as a fine art medium by Dawn after she hand-inked and painted animation cels for Fox's hit television series, The Simpsons, in the early 1990's.

The Cel-Painting Workshop will be held Monday - Friday at the Ziibiwing Center from 5:30pm - 8:00pm. Space is limited. All participants must register in advance and be 18 years or older.
